"My Dear Friends..."
Once again natural disasters, such as in the US and Africa, have shown us the good and the bad sides of human nature. It's so easy for those of us not directly affected, to point fingers or feel sorrow for others and just feel helpless. The good things is that we all can make a conscious decision whether to fall on the positive or negative side of the human spectrum. The easiest way (and often the most helpful way) to do this is to donate to the relief agencies of the world. The other thing is to keep pressure on our elected officials to be pro-active and compassionate in the way they treat the poor and underprivileged of our world culture. When we give, we always get something in return, even if it's just a good feeling inside that you are one of the forces of good.
